have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? ive heard them calling my name. are these the sweet sounds that called the young sailors? i think theyre one and the same. ive heard it too many times to ignore it; theres something that im supposed to be. someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection: the lovers, the dreamers and me.

    boom boom dollar

stayed home today to relax. i felt okay, but i think a day off was in order. it was nice! and i knew i wouldnt be missing much work in class and things ... back to school for me tomorrow though, but its friday.

i did make it to borders for our study group though. no one knew i was coming, but all conveniently left half of their expressos for me to drink ... haha. [info]blingblingbling wenli, [info]avant_garden camille and phil got me all caught up for the history quiz tomorrow. then we browsed through things. what a time. i think we're all hilarious together. no one wanted to drive phil home (he lives all the way on the east side) and since there was no spare change for pay phones he came over to my house. i taught the boy some viola and he created some new viola playing techniques. har har. then we went upstairs and messed around on the keyboard. and discussed piano things. funny! then his mummy came and that was that.

girl scout meeting tonight. i guess its not really a meeting ... shock, horror! girl scouts! haha i dont see what everyones problem with girl scouts is. im an 'individual' meaning i just do what i want to do on my own and then join in groups for the activities and camping and things ... scholarships baby! and camping. when you get older thats all girl scouts is good for. im going to make into the woods by the second act too. meastro hugh is going to be there tonight! and then ill come home and study and sleep and wake up and go to school. im pumped.

im still a bit frazzled from my fall. im okay health wise (i think) but the whole thing just scared the hell out of me. it could have been awful ... i could be brain dead (i mean that seriously this time). its amazing what such a small thing can do. just touching a silly piece of glass! and then i think of my dad and his accident, how easily that happened and how much it changed everything. ah, crazy.

i need to do website things. its been far too long. must go now. so long!

there are giants in the sky

well i guess youll all be wanting to know about my day then. holy crazy. one trip to the emergency room is enough for me!

so we were doing a lab in chemistry. bending glass and things, it was very neat! my lab partners ([info]blingblingbling and bari) and i had burned down the edges of the glass pieces so that they were smooth, and i was very careful to tell the two of them which pieces were hot! bari ended up burning herself on one ... and i guess wenli thought another was cool and handed it to me. she picked up a cool part, but i touched the hot part and my finger started to blister. the last thing i remember was telling wenli i felt very light headed and BOOM. i thought i was sleeping at home when i started to stir, then i looked up and saw mr hinchman staring down at me and the rest of the class gaping over from their lab stations. i guess i passed out and whacked my head on the slate lab table, there was a pool of blood underneath my head when i got up to go to the nurse. it felt SO hot in the room, i think i was sweating like mad! neither wenli and i knew where the nurses office was, but we made it. she cleaned me up a bit and called my mum. the back of my shirt was blood stained, so i would be needing to go home regardless. but a trip to the emergency room was in order first, you never know with these head injuries ... the school nurse was asking me all these strange questions and had me scared out of my mind. this could have been terribly serious! she was making sure i knew who i was and things ... the doctor at the emergency room thought it would be a wise idea if i went in for a CAT scan. the guy who did that was hilarious, he kept saying things like 'oh there it is' and 'nice one!' (i guess my gash was pretty disgusting from what i hear ... ) the results came back negative for everything, thank goodness! but i have a second degree burn on my finger ... one of my viola playing fingers! but i still should be able to play well.

oi. at least i didnt have to go to english. now ill be needing to do makeup work ... and i dont feel like doing any of my homework now either. oh well ill figure this out later. i am going to go to into the woods though! i really do think im up to it. it feels good to be up and doing things. i fell asleep and [info]avant_garden called me, i thought it was tomorrow and started freaking out that i had slept through the whole day ... and then i got totally worried because confusion is one of those strange symptoms the nurse told me to watch out for. at least im not totally brain dead ... i hope.

i missed the speech and debate meeting, too. ill have to ask camille how that all went ...

my uncle just stopped by for a bit, wanted to see how i was doing! haha hes a funny funny man that uncle of mine. i should really go get ready now, i have no idea how im going to wash my hair ... cacked in blood and things. not to disgust you all. haha enough of that!! i must be off, andrew assured me that if i were to pass out in the pit hed stick me under the passoral (spelling?) until intermission. how thoughtful! im doing alright everyone, no need to fear! bye!

Einstein's Legacy: The Unity of Space and Time: A Nobel Laureate relates the fascinating story of Einstein and the development of relativity theory. Eschewing technical terms in favor of ordinary language, this splendidly lucid and profusely illustrated volume is perfect for readers without a scientific background. Discussions include the meaning of time and the paradoxes of space travel at speeds close to that of light; gravity and its effect on light; non-Euclidean geometry and the curving of space-time; and the impact of radio astronomy and space-age discoveries upon Einstein's model of the universe.

somebody buy me that book. just spent half my evening reading some detailed analysis about relativity and things ... i have no idea why. everyone go to howstuffworks.com yay!

gah. i hope theres no ap chem test tomorrow. its nice to have tests when you're not told a damn thing about them. oh well. formed a study group with phil camille mo and the shreve. we're going to meet at borders for coffee and history notes discussing thursday after school! what nerds! its going to be awesome and intellectual, i hope. haha. speech & debate introductory type meeting tomorrow afterschool. yay for speech!

lots to say, but no time to type ... have wonderful nights!

    only the good die young

    dont ask me why )

yo. i want a new purse. yes, shopping tomorrow would be fun. called camille today to see if she wanted to go but alas the lass was off quintet rehearsing. i need to decorate my school binders, im behind this year! any ideas? i need to get my craft master friend rachele down here, she might be coming to see into the woods tonight. whee!

speaking of into the woods, im not sure camille enjoyed it too much. haha i mean the actors im sure she loved, but i guess i over anticipate with people and sondheim. hes hard to grasp, very hard to grasp (i had this whole concept nicely explained to me the other night). the show is SO layered, you cant possibly catch everything the first time (all the lyrics and things) and take it all in at once. the chord structures at times can be very hard to listen to. like director matthews said, this is sondheim you're going to have to think! sondheim shows really grow on you overtime. i didnt like into the woods the first time i heard it, now its one of my favorite shows of all times! slave master sondheim = genius. word.

got bored and created that. holy billy joel. i found my mom had his glass houses album with the most adorable pictures on it (its the picture of him in pants and the really big one on the left ... haha in pants) this lp needs to live in my room now. gah i love piano things. and his upbeat happy songs are sex. haha uptown girl is playing on loop right now. i love the way he says 'up - ' towards the end of the song. hot hot hot.

HA i got a teen people magazine today (i get these, i dont know why ... ) and one of the advertisements has sound. this asumes the shit out of me. its for a shampoo, and the front has a picture of some happy woman and it says 'whats gotten into her?' then you open to the next page and it sings 'HAWAFENA, HAWAFENA, HAWAFENA' like youd sing 'HALLELUJA, HALLELUJAH , HALLELUJAH!' how awesome is that?!

school needs to die. two weeks down. im doing everything i can to get by without doing my homework ... haha this might not be a good idea. procrastination at its best, fools. the other day in algebra (2) camille and i made up an equation. its the equation for how to do life. and it goes like this 'shutup = what the hell + no' ... haha

im going to make a bumper sticker that says 'PIANO IS FOR PLAYERS' on it. and stick it on my cd player. or on my car whenever i get one someday. haha i think thats hilarious, dont know why. piano, yay!

i mowed the lawn today and it was fun. then i went to subway and that was fun. i talked on the phone for a bit which was fun. now im going to get ready to head down to the theater, which i anticipate should be fun.

hot funk, cool punk, even if its old junk its still rock and roll to me. bye.

its still rock and roll to me

AHH!!! i. want. billy. joel. yes. its about time for me to have a new music interest, and hes it. camille has hers too, led zeppy-lin. we'll get all into our new loves, and then share the good with eachother i believe. i just bought 'the essential billy joel' two disc thing. oh my god. sigh thats all i have to say about this now.

i got my first cavity the other day ... and went in to get it filled today. turns out it was just very small and on the surface, so dr j filled it in without the silly numbing stuff i cant spell. oh the pain! but i made it. and even got a prize! talked to the other dentist lady about how she met paul a few years ago at a concert in cleveland. wah! he just came waltzing down to the audience. her third row tickets were only thirty dollars. unfair! my nosebleed seats were 90 ... oh well, times change!

picked up a strange retro folder for mandarin. haha what? it has this retro woman on it and says 'chill out!' the colors rocked ... so thats that. shall make a layout with them and billy joely joel joel sometime. whee!

camille: i found a picture of hugh (k.) in the newspaper on a motorcycle with some slut. i didnt have time to see what it was for, but im having my mummy bring it home from work tomorrow. youre going to die. and the playhouse newsletter has some things in it youll find pleasing ... i shall show you latah!

friend julie made yummy oatmeal butterscotch cookies today. i had ... well, too many! and soup in cooking class. chemistry is the shit, mr hinchman rambles about obscure perverted things not related to chemistry at all. history was spent watching mr. davis go about quoting monty python. lord i love that man! english = die. i love english, i really do! im a grammar nerd person. but the teacher is a witch and someone needs to break her hip. hmph.

must go to rehearsal at the playhouse soon. into the woods opens friday, and its going to rock. i love this show! i do i do i do. almost as much as i love slave master sondheim. rarw.

must go do things now. like houdini. word.

i sort of hate to ask it, but do you have a basket?

went miniature golfing today. i beat mandie by 15 ... points? champion! we all went to ponderosa, too. yum. made a stop at the library while downtown and checked out johnny lennons 'skywriting by word of mouth', ive read a few things so far. ah, john is awesome. then it was time for into the woods rehearsal. OH my god. this show is going to rock the house like woah. the set is absolutely awesome, and the cast members are the best of the best. the pit has been cut down to half its size though because of the stage being extended (i forget the name of the thing). the music is really awesome, sondheim is my lover. andrew and i both wore our sondheim shirts. like we belonged to some elite sondheim club. yay! into the woods = good.

going kayaking tomorrow down on the peninsula. should be fun, i like kayaking! the mum and i went when we were in aruba. the waves were so strong though, and everyone on our tour ended up taking the ferry back from the island we went out to. the poor kayak tour men had to haul all of our kayaks back by themselves. oh well, thats what being buff is for huh. my family's having some sort of picnic on monday, too. family picnics are always fun. especially with my uncle and his little greek man father. should be a pretty alright weekend! must fit in the mr davis readings sometime though ... ugh, school.

on friday i found out at the last minute that i couldnt get a ride to continue on with my movie plans, as it turns out my mom was headed to see my uncles band the same time i needed to be up there. i guess i could have made it to caseys pool party after all ... im sure everyone had a good time anyway!

alright. time to watch willy wonka. goodnight!

... yeah! wow, some guy just robbed a bank up on peach street (the busiest and most built up street on the face of the planet) and was handcuffed by the police. then he said he had a bomb, and blew himself up ... holy crazy. no one was hurt, except him obviously. the whole street is shut down. oi. crazy.

    anyone can whistle
    stephen sondheim
    Anyone can whistle,
That's what they say - easy.
    Anyone can whistle
    Any old day - easy.

    It's all so simple:
    Relax, let go, let fly.
So someone tell me why can't I?

    I can dance a tango,
I can read Greek - easy.
    I can slay a dragon
    Any old week - easy.

    What's hard is simple.
    What's natural comes hard.
    Maybe you could show me
    How to let go,
    Lower my guard,
    Learn to be free.
    Maybe if you whistle,
    Whistle for me.

    I can slay a dragon
    Any old week - easy.

    What's hard is simple.
    What's natural comes hard.

and another hundred people just got off of the train

    school. gah.

my homeroom teacher turns out to be mike malthaner from the playhouse. his room is covered in show posters! whee! mr davis the history guy is absolutely awesome. yes, really cool teachers make my day. throwing about potatoes in history class and then writing their life stories while secretly being taught some interesting concept about history is my idea of a good time! am currently writing "what my potato taught me" in my ya ya pear journal. i like this class. ap chemistry makes me laugh. mr hinchman rambles like a mother. nothing like taking mindless notes while watching the rain crash onto the parking lot two stories below listening to mr hinchman talk about prostitutes and poker. chemistry = fun. wenli is my lab partner, and we're going to accidentally cure cancer. i dont mind walking up the freaking mile long ramp from one building to another just for chemistry, i really dont ...

note: my school is actually two buildings since we have so many kids (over 600 per grade). some classes are up at the senior high, and others down at the intermediate. if youre an unlucky fool like i am, you get to walk from one to another multiple times during the day ... in the snow. or rain. or heat.

my english class consists of myself and four other girls. yes. some of the other english classes have over thirty children ... but mine has five. stupid honors college (some silly special honors program they started this year) messing up scheduling. it doesnt help that mrs brosig is an evil boring bitch lady. we'll have lots of time for reading and study halling since there are so few of us though, which is nice. culinary arts! once again up at the senior high ... i have the coolest cooking group ever: bob, andy and andrew. the three biggest football jocks in the school and me! haha, we are going to burn the house down with our cooking creations. im excited about this class. wenli and i get to sit in the back in a little lab cubical in biology since the class has over thirty kids. its our humble little abode, im all ready to add curtains and decorate it. we have a sink and plugs and everything! mandarin 3 is just as silly as mandarin 2. orchestra is going to rock the mullet, mr hetrick is so lost and confused. the poor man. get to travel once again for algebra 2 with mr follador. and thats school!

... enjoyed the composer lyricist concerts at the playhouse a great much. even got thanked and cheered for by the audience! INTO THE WOODS rehearsals start on saturday ... i wore my sondheim shirt today to get all pumped up for it. slave master sondheim ... sizzle.

camille made an awesome new layout for our beatle site and i have it up and ready to go ... just no time to do it! and theres a lot of content to be added. oi. must wait for a break from school.

must go do school related things now. bye!

Unbelievable! THIS Is In the Dictionary?
"Bling-bling" will soon be entered into the Oxford English Dictionary.

What started out as hip-hop jargon has turned into slang. And it's not just for teenagers. CNN Headline News can't get enough of "bling-bling." Listen carefully and you'll hear it on ESPN commercials. Newsweek used it in its May 12 edition in an article on, of all things, Costco. Newsweek's exact phrase was "Ring up the bling." At Costco.
